Last year IBM and Ponemon Institute researched the average total cost of a data breach. It became clear that the average total cost of a data breach is $3.63 million. This sounds like good news, but the amount of breaches that took place went up by 1.8%. On average the amount of stolen records per data breach was 24.000.
