SecurIT announces TrustBuilder® Java Edition
Provides an Industry Standard based and very scalable alternative for its widely used TrustBuilder Authentication and Authorisation framework.
Gent, April 8, 2009 – Since the introduction of TrustBuilder C-Man for ITAM late 2003, many large enterprises use SecurIT’s flagship product to provide a flexible framework for Authentication and Authorization purposes. In 2005 the Server version introduced a new concept of platform-independent Identity Data Services, a superset of what Gartner now defines as Versatile Authentication Services. Today SecurIT announces the 3rd major evolution of this advanced solution: a Java version of TrustBuilder.
SecurIT will soon release a Java version of its TrustBuilder Server Product, as the next evolution of current C-Man 2.2 and Server 3.0 version. The code has been fully rewritten in Java, allowing it to run on a variety of different platforms. The new Product release will be available in two different flavours:
· A stand-alone software appliance as a seamless replacement of the existing C++ based TrustBuilder Server 3.0 release.
· An IBM Websphere application.
The stand-alone version packaging is similar to the current TrustBuilder Server 2.2 and 3.0 versions.
The other version will be based on WebSphere, and will leverage WebSphere clustering and session management, allowing it to be hosted on an existing infrastructure with enhanced scalability.
To streamline migrations, the new Java version will be from a functional point of view identical to the TrustBuilder Server 3.0 version. The new version of Connectors will improve the existing fail-over and load-balancing capabilities of TrustBuilder. Embedded XML schema validation will also be supported, thereby preventing badly formatted XML messages from entering the server.
The Java version will obviously include two existing front-end integration interfaces : EAI in order to be fully compliant with all IBM Tivoli Access Manager authentication features and the more general-purpose open Web Services interface.
The Beta release of the Java version of TrustBuilder is expected in May and General Availability code in September 2009. Future releases will also benefit from a new graphical user interface to help designing the TrustBuilder worklflows, thereby greatly simplifying configuration work.
TrustBuilder C-Man and its associated Connector portfolio will remain unaffected and the current 2.2 version will continue to be supported and maintained for upcoming ITAM versions. New functionalities will require the addition of TrustBuilder Server.
