TrustBuilder® Java Edition General Available
SecurIT announces that TrustBuilder Server 4.0 Java Edition will be General Available on October 16, 2009. TrustBuilder Server provides Enterprise-wide Authentication, signing and context-aware authorisation services to a variety of Web and Network Access Management platforms and Applications.
TrustBuilder has been in use for 6 years at large corporations as an Enterprise platform providing flexibility in the choice of authentication methods and its ability to incorporate any data related to the user, the protected resource and the session context into the log-in credentials. More recently, the product has been extended to incorporate transaction signing and validation services to applications in conjunction with Digital Certificates and token-based solutions from companies like VASCO or Gemalto.
“TrustBuilder 4.0 is a major step forward” says Marc Vanmaele, CEO of SecurIT, “since it will allow us to take advantage of many ongoing developments in the industry and standards community. Gartner already recognised the product as a major contender in the upcoming Versatile Authentication Service market, but we are convinced that TrustBuilder is way ahead of the crowd with its content-aware, dynamic authorisation extensions and transaction signing capabilities.”
The new TrustBuilder Server Java release will be available in two different flavours:
· A stand-alone software appliance, functionally equivalent with the current C++ based TrustBuilder Server 3.0 version, which it will replace over time, when all available back-end Connectors have been ported to the Java environment.
· An IBM WebSphere J2EE application, leveraging WebSphere clustering and session management, allowing it to be hosted on an existing infrastructure with enhanced scalability. Support for other platforms in a later stage is subject to market conditions.
To streamline migrations, the new Java version will be identical to the TrustBuilder Server 3.0 version from a functional point of view. The new version of Connectors will improve the existing fail-over and load-balancing capabilities of TrustBuilder. Embedded XML schema validation will also be supported, preventing badly formatted XML messages from entering the server.
The Java version will obviously include existing front-end integration interfaces: a general-purpose Open Web or Web Services interface, configurable to accept requests from almost any application or access management platform and IBM Tivoli Access Manager (ITM) compliant CDAS and EAI interfaces.
Future releases will also benefit from a new graphical user interface to help designing the TrustBuilder workflows, thereby greatly simplifying configuration work.
TrustBuilder C-Man and its associated Connector portfolio will remain unaffected and the current 2.2 version will continue to be supported and maintained for upcoming ITAM versions. New functionalities will require the addition of TrustBuilder Server.
